Carmela Illustrates is the work of Carmela Arguimbau, an Argentinian illustrator based in Edinburgh. Her live watercolour and ink portraits bring a heartfelt, artistic touch to weddings, capturing guests and couples in the moment with warmth, emotion, and storytelling.

Carmela holds an HND in Illustration and a BA (Hons) in Visual Communication. After completing her studies, she began her journey into the illustration industry, focusing on live event portraits, commissioned pieces, and personal projects inspired by Japanese Sumi-e, Studio Ghibli, manga, the Scottish landscape, and her South American heritage.

Her passion lies in storytelling and in capturing the soul and character of people in those fleeting, beautiful moments that make each celebration unique.

When she’s not painting, Carmela can be found baking sourdough, playing guitar, or exploring nature with her partner and their adventurous cat.
