Sarah Humanist Celebrant
Hi! I’m Sarah M Wills, a celebrant at Celebrate People, a spiritual and pastoral care organisation with a humanist ethos. We are a group of like-minded folk whose beliefs centre on equality, tolerance and compassion. We believe in people, in you, before any kind of dogma or doctrine. We trust that you know what feels right for you at the most significant points in your life and are here to help you at those moments in any way we can.
As a celebrant of Celebrate People, I am authorised to conduct legal marriage and civil partnership. I also conduct funerals, naming and welcoming ceremonies, and more.
I love being a celebrant! It's the moments of connection with people that I value the most. There is nothing as satisfying or that fills my heart more than to help to bring your words, values and vision together. For you to feel heard, seen, understood and celebrated for who you are and to have a ceremony that reflects this. In turn, this is also a beautiful and fulfilling part of upholding the principles and beliefs core to my own life.
I work alongside couples to create a ceremony that is inclusive and joyful, and that tells your story the way you want to tell it. If you want to include your loved ones and/or furry pals too, then great! Whether you’ve got loads of ideas or you’re struggling to figure it out, we’ll come up with something that suits you, and your day, together.
A wee bit more about me
I’ve worked for many years in listening and supportive roles, including with children, young people and adults, from all walks of life. Through this journey, I have developed a deep belief in the fundamental importance of love, acceptance, connection and the freedom to live authentically. The skills and qualities I've gained – listening (beyond simply your words), empathy, warmth and genuine interest in others - align well with celebrancy too!
I LOVE dogs, crisp autumn days, punk rock, daydreams, adventures, beaches, coffee and dinosaurs.
