Hey there! I’m Susan Young, a Humanist Celebrant based in the gorgeous Scottish
Borders, in the wee town of Melrose. I create wedding ceremonies packed with love,
laughter, and just the right amount of sentiment—enough to feel all the feels, but not
enough to totally ruin your make-up (unless you want to sob through your vows, in
which case, go for it!).

I absolutely LOVE marrying folk—like, really love it. I know what a privilege it is to be
part of such a monumental moment in your life, and I take that honour seriously. But
I also believe weddings should be fun, full of personality, and totally you.
Want to share hilarious anecdotes? Let’s do it. Prefer to keep it short and sweet? No
problem. Fancy a handfasting, a reading, or even a wee dance? I’m all in.

Elopement, Micro Wedding, a Festival of You, or a Big Fancy Affair?
Whatever your dream wedding looks like—whether it’s an intimate “just us” moment
or a full-blown extravaganza—I’ll craft a completely bespoke ceremony that fits you
both perfectly. I’ve even been known to write a cheesy poem or two (only if you want
me to, of course!) and I love to get creative making your own ritual, based on your
style, your values and what you love… so no-one else will ever have the same thing!
My fee includes everything—symbolic rituals, readings, personal touches, all the
good stuff. And yes, I’ll happily travel anywhere in Scotland (though if you’re
whisking me away to the far, far North, there might be a wee mileage charge!).

Oh, and the Important Bit…

I’m a fully accredited celebrant with the Caledonian Humanist Association and
licensed by the Registrar General in Scotland, which means—yay!—I can legally
marry you. Oh, and of course, I’m insured too!
