Martha Welland Bespoke Threads

Martha Welland Bespoke Threads is about unique wedding wear that affirms who you are. I draft bespoke sewing patterns, cut and construct beautiful wedding wear, and alter clothing to be just right. With over 10 years experience making costumes for stage and screen, I’ve sewed a lot of different outfits for a lot of different people. I specialise in historic and vintage inspired styles, but really go for anything that is a bit off the beaten track.

Body Positive Bespoke Sewing & Unique Wedding Wear

I run a completely inclusive queer-friendly, and body-positive wedding wear studio, where all bodies are good bodies, and that applies to size, gender identity, personal style, sensory comfort levels, etc. I really believe that your wedding clothes should affirm who you are and that everyone deserves to feel amazing and completely authentic in what they wear!

I love making flowery whimsical gowns, but I’m equally happy doing a cool masc jacket, altering your shop-bought outfit to fit your body post-surgery, or working with you to make your outfit easy to dress and wear to accommodate a disability. I’m not really about trends and more about what you love and makes you feel great.

Aside from all that I’m also an ex-pat Canadian, a mum, a cat botherer, a HYROX wannabe, a board game geek and a bird watcher.
