Solen Collet Photography

Edinburgh photographer, Artist & Elopement Enthusiast

Vibrant, empowering, playful images & ideas for romantic renegades and local creatives.

I've been recording weddings for around 13 years, all over Scotland and beyond. It's a wild thing to do - to be creeping around in the background of huge milestones. My couples tend to be a bit camera shy so are drawn to the candid, natural, artistic and relaxed images I make.

I shoot what happens on the day - authentic wee moments for couples but also those funny unlikely drunk friendships that form between your nan and your workmates. My images are bright, colourful, a mix of digital and analogue 35mm film in beachy tones and strong black and whites as I'm quite nostalgic and happy memories are always sunny to me in some way, even if the Scottish weather wasn't the reason!

I'm a wee solo parent living with my son and rescue pup by the beach, we're a neurodiverse household and I think that's helped me to hyperfocus in photography, my brain gets into following the flow of your day and it's one of the few times I'm not juggling a million ideas and conversations in there. I'm also an artist, I work with photography, alternative processing like cyanotype, mixed media collage, video and words too, which all inform each other and my wedding work.

I'm well versed at working with folks who feel deeply uncomfy about being the centre of attention - I shoot lots of smaller weddings and elopements as well as bigger parties. Solid advice - forget the unhelpful traditions that don't suit you, let's create something that feels personal and authentic to you, a celebration that tells your story. No cringe posing, just your natural connection captured to keep safe. Let go of perfection and prioritise fun. Intimate, stylist and delicious memories capturing the flow and vibes of your day.
