Tell us a bit about you, the person behind the brand?
I'd say I am a very happy and light hearted girl, I love to get out and about with my two dogs Bonnie and Skye and take them up Munros with my husband, I love to bake.....obviously and cook! Love a holiday, especially when it includes a drink. I swear too much, most people know me for my bright red hair, and still absolutely cannot believe this is my job.
How did your vision/passion begin?
I have always enjoyed baking but I actually made my now husband a cake in an attempt to impress him on his birthday the first year we got together and then it grew from there as I have someone who would eat the cakes and I then decided to make a Instagram page for my baking and people actually wanted to order from me and since then it has just grown and grown, I started out with pudges in 2018 and baked alongside my full time job until quitting my job to go full time with baking mid – pandemic in august of 2020
What’s your favourite part of doing what you do?
Seeing my couples and clients reactions when they see their cakes, there is no better feeling than seeing someone so delighted with something you have made.
What one piece of advice would you give to couples?
Remember it is your wedding, the day is about you and your husband/wife to be, hopefully you only do it once so make your decisions based upon what you want and no one else.
What attracted you to our alternative wedding fair/directory?
It seemed very much my kind of vibe, I love to create beautiful white classic and timeless wedding cakes but when someone comes to me and wants a black wedding cake or a brightly coloured one, I love it, I believe that the clientele that will be at the alternative wedding fair will be the clientele that align with my business and brand and will only bring me great couples to work with.
Who is your biggest icon, and why?
Ill be absolutely honest, I have no idea! I really admire anyone who is just like a normal person and have worked hard to build a business etc, Running your own business is so hard so I really admire anyone who has given it a go. Cake wise if I had to choose, I love the yummy pudding co on insta, as shes insanely talented.
What’s for dinner?
Tonight my husband and I will be having Mince and dumplings with roast potatoes on the side (for me..I don’t like to share my Roasties) I also have Fish tacos on the menu this week as well as home made pizza.
