From dramatic floral archways and large installations at the end of the aisle, to bouquets and small buttons for the groomsmen, choosing your wedding flowers can be an overwhelming experience.
Thankfully we have you covered here at the Scottish Wedding Unconvention, with a range of amazing Scottish wedding floral suppliers on our Wedding Directory, each with their own individual style, to help you choose!
Colours
There's lots to consider when choosing your wedding floral decor and arrangements. What do you want the overall vibe to your wedding to feel like? If you're on this site we're guessing it's not traditional! Preparing beforehand with your own Pinterest board will help you whittle down what you do like/dislike. Knowing the overall colour scheme of your wedding will help you decide which type of flowers are most suitable.
Fresh roses and peonies in soft ivories and pastels used to be the traditional go to for brides. Nowadays anything goes! We love this bouquet by Sunflower and the Bear. The addition of the large yellow sunflowers gives it more of relaxed, fun vibe.
The addition of black cala lillies and silk fabric to this gorgeous bridal bouquet by Narcissus Wedding Flowers by Susan gives it a romantic yet modern vibe.
Flowers for the Bridal Party and Groomsmen
If fresh flowers aren’t your thing there’s lots of other options for you! We’ve definitely seen a trend for more alternative bouquets and arrangements. She Bloomin Gathered (love the name!) offer the most amazing dried flower arrangements in a gorgeous array of bright colours as well as dried flower crowns and gorgeous colourful buttonholes.

Another alternative to fresh or dried flowers are paper ones! Papercut Posies offer the most amazing hand made paper arrangements! They are so different from what is on offer everywhere else.
Venue Styling
Your florist can also assist you with styling your venue! Many offer lots of different levels of packages to suit your wedding budget.
Another thing to consider is the time of year. If you’re looking for fresh flowers you need to consider what will be in season. Your florist will be able to chat to you about this at your initial consultation. Sunflower and the Bear, based in Callander, offer an in person or online meeting, providing mood boards and knowledge on which flowers work together and which flowers are in season.
We love this rustic barn set up by Sunflower!
Maybe your looking for something more boho for your ceremony. Narcissus Wedding flowers by Susan creates the most gorgeous rustic backdrops as seen here in the Cardney Steading Shoot with rustic rattan furniture by The Cheeky Hound Wedding and Prop Hire.
Whatever you choose, remember it's your day. The wedding should be a reflection of you and your partner's style, rather than following trends! Stick to your budget and find a florist who gets your style and takes the time to discuss your different options.
